Second week of study - Entrepreneurship - Part 01

The week began with reflection on what we did and learned in the previous week. It was great to remember the new concepts and experiences so that became clearer in my mind. It is interesting to see how self-reflection is something essential and so underused in our culture. Reflection, no doubt, is a learning tool.

To motivate the student to reflect on their learning is important to ask the student to reflect on their learning and their last lessons so you can properly fixed them in your mind. To emphasize this would like to quote a phrase from B. Franklin Roosevelt: "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn ".

Another point that is constantly remembered here is that we must listen carefully to what others are talking. Definitely, in general, listening is not the strong point of Brazilians but it seems to me "hear" is not just a challenge for Brazilians, listen carefully and analyze what is being said by someone else implies temporarily suppress our thoughts, or is, temporarily shift the focus of our thoughts to pay attention to what the other is talking and soon after that continue to develop our reasoning from that observation. This is a challenge for anyone, but I conclude that in our culture we tend to talk more than listen and often when we hear, barely pay attention. So will the council again: Listen carefully to what the other is talking about.

This week also was approached the Curriculum-Based Skills (CBC), which is nothing more than create in the classroom an appropriate educational plan the skills and vocations of each student. A challenge for the Brazilian teaching model where not difficult to find more than 40 students in the same room for a single teacher! I do not have the answers of how to create the CBC or how to apply it, but certainly in the coming weeks we will discuss this matter with more assiduity but I want to share some insight into this first part:

- We have to work based on skills rather than content (a paradigm to be broken);

- Competence is a combination of "knowing, doing and being";

Segunda semana de estudos – Empreendedorismo – Parte 01

A semana começou com reflexão sobre o que fizemos e aprendemos na semana anterior. Foi excelente para recordar os novos conceitos e experiências vividas de forma que ficaram mais claros em minha mente. É interessante ver como a auto-reflexão é algo essencial e tão subutilizada em nossa cultura. Reflexão, sem dúvida, é uma ferramenta de aprendizado.

Para motivar o aluno a refletir sobre seu aprendizado é importante pedir ao aluno para que ele reflita sobre o seu aprendizado e suas últimas lições para que possa adequadamente fixa-las em sua mente. Para enfatizar isso gostaria de citar uma frase de B. Franklin Roosevelt: “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn”¹.

Outro ponto que constantemente é lembrado por aqui é que devemos ouvir cuidadosamente o que os outros estão falando. Definitivamente, no geral, ouvir não é o ponto forte dos brasileiros porém pelo que me parece “ouvir” não é apenas um desafio para os brazucas, ouvir cuidadosamente e analisar o que está sendo falado por outra pessoa implica em suprimir temporariamente nossos pensamentos, ou seja, mudar o foco temporariamente dos nossos pensamentos para prestar atenção no que o outro está falando e logo após isso continuar a desenvolver nosso raciocínio a partir daquela observação. Isso é um desafio para qualquer ser pensante, mas concluo que pela nossa cultura somos inclinados mais a falar do que a ouvir e, muitas vezes quando ouvimos, mal prestamos atenção. Então vai o conselho mais uma vez: Ouça cuidadosamente o que o outro está falando.

Nessa semana foi abordado também o Currículo Baseado em Competências (CBC), que nada mais é do que criar em sala de aula um plano de ensino adequado a competências e vocações de cada aluno. Um desafio e tanto para o modelo de ensino brasileiro onde não dificilmente encontramos mais de 40 alunos na mesma sala para um único professor! Ainda não tenho as respostas de como criar o CBC ou como aplica-lo, mas certamente nas próximas semanas iremos discutir o assunto com mais assiduidade porém quero compartilhar alguns insights sobre essa primeira parte:

- Temos que trabalhar baseados em competências e não em conteúdos (um paradigma a ser quebrado);

- Competência é uma combinação de “conhecer, fazer e ser”;
